Tiflet

Tiflet is a town in the Khemisset Province of the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region in northwestern Morocco. Its history is deeply rooted in antiquity, with evidence of Berber, Phoenician and Roman settlements in the area. During the Roman era, the town is said to have been known as Tifilis and to have served as an important stop on the route connecting various parts of the province. The region has been continuously inhabited, preserving layers of history from different civilisations, although much of that record lies under fields rather than in standing buildings.

Getting to Tiflet is easy by road from Rabat or Meknes, with regular bus services available, and the town also lies along the main railway and motorway corridor linking the two cities. The climate is Mediterranean, with warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The best time to visit is spring, from March to May, or autumn, from September to November, when the weather is mild and pleasant for outdoor activities. Summer can be hot, while winter may bring rain. Accommodation options are limited, with basic guesthouses and hotels available for overnight stays, and many visitors prefer to stay in Rabat or Meknes and come for the day.
