Travel from Marrakech to Imlil
Take a shared taxi (grand taxi) or private transfer from Marrakech to Imlil. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours through the Tizi n'Tichka pass, offering stunning views of the Atlas Mountains.
Arrival & Imlil Village Center
Arrive in Imlil (1,740m). Drop bags at your guesthouse or lodge. Explore the village center, the gateway to the High Atlas, and observe daily life in this Berber hub.
Valley Walk & Watermills
Take a gentle walk along the river path from Imlil. Observe traditional watermills and Berber farming plots. This easy walk provides a peaceful introduction to the landscape.
Hike to Aroumd Village
Hike uphill for about 30-45 minutes to the nearby Berber village of Aroumd. The trail passes through walnut groves and terraced fields. This hike is easy and does not require a guide.
Lunch with Panoramic Views
Enjoy lunch at the Kasbah du Toubkal or a similar lodge in Aroumd. Savor traditional Berber meals with panoramic views of the Toubkal massif.

Return to Imlil and visit local Berber co-ops. Explore traditional crafts such as weaving, pottery, and jewelry making, supporting local women's cooperatives.
Traditional Mint Tea Break

Return to your guesthouse for dinner. Enjoy a traditional Berber meal, such as vegetable tagine or couscous, followed by more mint tea.
Return to Marrakech
Take a shared taxi back to Marrakech. Arrive in the city around 21:00, concluding your day trip.
Where to stay: For a one-day trip, accommodation in Imlil is optional. However, staying overnight allows for a more relaxed pace and stargazing. Recommended lodges include Imlil Mountain Lodge or Riad Jnane Imlil.
Getting around: Shared taxis depart frequently from the taxi stand in Marrakech (near the train station or designated tourist spots). Book return tickets in advance or agree on a time with the driver. Private transfers offer more flexibility.
